I’m delighted to be able give you a sneak peak into the SeeWhy abandonment tracker service.
The new service tracks individual visitors’ progress through shopping carts, online registration forms and online applications. When a visitor starts one of these processes but doesn’t complete, then the Abandonment Tracker will capture their ID.
Following up on cart or form abandonment is very effective: you can expect about one third of those that abandon their application, form or basket to convert if you follow up rapidly.
The service will be in two guises:
- A free service (now available to limited numbers) which will send you a daily email containing all the abandoners in the previous 24 hours, together with the time and abandonment point, and the value of the basket if appropriate.
- A paid version, where as soon as the abandonment happens, an email directly to the customer can be triggered. This real time event driven approach allows complete automation end to end of the follow up process.
The reaction to the service has been fantastic. I guess that the timing is right: shopping cart and form abandonment is an old problem, and any new solutions are very well received in this harsh economic climate.
